Our boavista apartments are situated on one the finest courses the Algarve has to offer, the 18 hole, par 71 Championship Boa vista Golf Course, which is located just west of Lagos in the Algarve, Portugal. The golf course is positioned within an exclusive 250-acre residential, recreational resort offering outstanding panoramic views of the Lagos ocean bay, the surrounding Monchique mountains and countryside. It is the perfect holiday setting for a keen golfer.
Designed by Howard Swan MSc, past president of The European Institute of Golf Course Architects, the Boavista Golf course has been successfully integrated into the existing natural terrain. The freshly manicured rolling fairways weave their way between water hazards and shrewdly placed bunkers, providing a variety of challenges for golfers of all abilities.
It’s difficult to choose a signature hole at Boavista, but a contender is the stunning par-4 7th, set against a glorious backdrop of the Atlantic ocean with exhilarating panoramic views extending from Praia da Luz round to the hills at Monchique.
The prestige of the Algarve as a top golf destination was recently confirmed as it was awarded the accolade of “Best Golf Destination in the World” by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO). With over 300 days of sunshine a year the Algarve is the ultimate all year-round golfing destination. Winters are mild with warm sunny days, allowing keen golfers the opportunity to play when courses in the UK are unplayable and waterlogged.
Boavista Golf Facilities
In addition to the 18-hole championship golf course, there is a teaching academy, driving range, pitching and chipping area, practice bunkers, putting green and pro shop.
The atmosphere at Boavista is very relaxed and friendly. After your game, enjoy a refreshing drink or snack on the terrace of the new Boavista Clubhouse that overlooks the 18th green and provides panoramic views of the Lagos Bay.
Quinta da Boavista is a golfer's paradise. You can play golf to your heart's content, plus it is a perfect base to enjoy some twenty golf courses on the Algarve, most of which can be reached within an hour. Nearby there are a further 7 famous golf courses. Palmares (10 mins), Parque de Floresta (10 mins) Penina (15 mins), Pinta, Gramacho plus the two new courses at Amendoeira - Faldo and O’Connor course (all 20 mins).
